About us
It started as a favour to a waitress.
And we built it in a burger restaurant in the Baix Llobregat, near Barcelona, with her telling us what was missing and what was in the way.
We’re not a software company that one day decided to sell to restaurants. Pasaplatos is made by one person who writes code, with the help of a waitress who has been serving tables for years and who checked every screen before it was signed off.
That’s why everything your guests see, the menu, the bookings and the receipt, is in Spanish and Catalan; the buttons are big enough to use the tablet with wet hands, and things are called what restaurants call them. The staff screens are in Spanish, with the words Spanish kitchens use: marchar, pase, cuenta.
It’s a small project, and that has a consequence worth saying: we won’t grow overnight. We would rather have ten well-looked-after restaurants in the same area than a hundred spread across Spain.
Before you write to us
You may not need us.
We’re saying it now so you don’t lose an hour. You don’t need us if:
- You get ten bookings a month. WhatsApp and a notebook are plenty.
- Your POS works well and you only want a booking button on your website, without a bookings diary or guest profiles. There are free options that will do.
- You want someone to bring you new guests. That’s what the platforms do, on commission. We look after the ones you already have. The two can work together.
